We have four games to play this month in the Npower Championship. The three of them four at home for us which I am pleased with. The first game comes against a tough Wigan Athletic team at home but there season has started poor, I think we could get a draw here. Then we travel to Bristol City which I am not confident about making me think we may lose. We then play Sheffield Wednesday which I believe we may grab a draw from. The final game of the month comes against Burnley which is the toughest of the month and I think we will lose.

The first match of the month for me was going to be tough but in the end we breezed to a 4-0 victory over Wigan Athletic which was the perfect start to our month. It was a really crazy last 10 minutes of the first half which saw us get 4 goals. The first goal came as Adam Le Fondre struck from the edge of the area. Then minutes later he was found in the middle and slotted it past the keeper. The third came 4 minutes later as a cross from Le Fondre was converted and was an OG. The goal that made it 4-0 came in the 45th minute as Le Fondre was found in the middle and slotted away. It was brilliant for the team and we came out of this very confident.
A game which I never really expected too much from my team in and we came out with no points. The game never seemed to go right as we got three players injured in the match all injured for a month or more which is annoying. We did manage to take the lead though as Beckford ran central and played a ball through to Schaken who slotted away. But from that goal Bristol City completely got hold of the game and we never had a chance. They equalised 4 minutes after we scored. I thought we would get hold of it but we never got comfortable and when I decided to gamble on changing the formation to 442 it ruined the way we were formed and conceded after we lapsed in concentration. A disappointing away defeat.
We managed to pull the rabbit out of the hat with this win having fallen behind things were not going well but Tommy Spurr led an excellent comeback. Sheffield Wednesday had the majority of the game and deservedly took thee lead with a cross headed in by Michel Platini (31 year old Brazilian). We though got a free kick and Tommy Spurr went and curled it in to make it 1-1. We then went into the second half and we looked up for it and Ferrie Bodde who I made stressed at the start of the match went and scored a scorcher from the edge of the area. We held out for another great result.
A really disappointing home defeat for us especially after we looked strong in the first couple of minutes. We took the lead when Jermaine Beckford was played through and he finished off well. We then just looked weak and Burnley were on top of the game. I was hoping that the half time break could give me a chance to get the players into this game more. It wasn’t to be as in the 48th minute as an early cross was played and headed in. Then a penalty hit the post and the rebound was put in. That was 2-1. We though got a 3 on 1 chance only for there defender to bring down my player (Cheat!!) and get a red card which would see us not really create any more chances. A poor loss and in fairness they deserved the win. We must improve upon this loss next month.
Review Of Results
In all this was a superb month considering I thought we would not win a single game. We started off really well but then lost and that could have seen us just lose confidence. We responded with another win but lost again. Overall 6 points out of 12 is good considering I thought we would just get 2 points out of 12.
Npower Championship League Table
I am happy with our position so far as we find ourselves in 12th position which is brilliant. I had expected a really poor start but 13 points from 9 games is not bad. It is still too early to really be able to say fully but if we can get another 15 points this year that would be good.
That is it for this post for now after we experience another decent month. My next post will be about the month of October.
Thanks for reading.
Tim.

That’s a good set of results overall I’d say. And being mid-table just now is good too because it gives your squad a little extra confidence, while some of those at the bottom who should be doing better might not feel so great.

Thanks for the comment Celticman… I agree the results were very pleasing, It is good to be mid-table certainly especially with confidence growing because of that but as you will see in my next post things seem to be spiraling.

Nice job . If you win 3 or 4 more matches , I think you will stay in Championship . And the result with Wigan suprised me !

Thanks for the comment, I would say that 3 or 4 wins will do me when it hits Christmas. The Wigan result shocked me also, it was great

Nice, in my opinion the npower league is one of the most difficult and challenging cmpetitions so many teams with similar potential
